Distinguished Achievement Award in Urban Entomology
The National Conference on Urban Entomology (NCUE) will be held May 18-21, 2008 at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center in Tulsa, OK. The NCUE Awards Committee requests the nomination of individuals from academia, government, or industry who have made outstanding and significant contributions to the field of urban entomology. The Awards Committee is seeking nominees of exceptional distinction and accomplishment. Previous recipients have been Drs. Walter Ebeling, James Grayson, John Osmun, Gene Wood, Charles Wright, Fran Weesner Lechleitner, Roger Akre, Harry Moore, Mary Ross, Donald Cochran, Gary Bennett, Mike Rust, Roger Gold and Coby Schal.
Nominations for the Distinguished Achievement Award should be made in the form of a 2 to 3-page letter summarizing the nominee’s qualifications, accomplishments and contributions to urban entomology. Additional supporting documents are encouraged, but may not exceed 5 pages. Selection will be based on the total contributions of the nominee. Nomination packets postmarked on or before March 1, 2008 will be considered. Please send, via U.S. mail (no email attachments), 3 copies of all materials to:

The recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Achievement Award will present the Arnold Mallis Memorial Award Lecture on Monday morning, May 19th, 2008. In addition, the NCUE Planning Committee has established a monetary award ($3,000) for the recipient. A check and a commemorative plaque will be presented just prior to the Mallis Lecture.
