Student Scholarship Notice
The National Conference on Urban Entomology (NCUE) will be held May 18-21, 2008 at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center in Tulsa, OK. The Awards Committee for the NCUE is soliciting applications for student scholarships. If qualified, three scholarships will be awarded---one each at the Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. level. Each scholarship will be $1,500. Scholarship recipients are required to use $500 towards their mandatory NCUE attendance.
Applicants should be outstanding undergraduate or graduate students studying urban entomology or industrial pest management full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university. The applicant should have at least 6 months remaining in his/her degree program from the deadline of this application. Application packets should include:
- Name of applicant, mailing address, phone number, and email. Applicant should indicate academic status (including degree sought), estimated graduation date, affiliation with the Department and College/University, description of professional activities, and a statement (2 pages maximum) of how his/her project relates to urban entomology.
- Transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable).
- At least one letter of recommendation (3 letters maximum).
- Maximum of 5 additional pages of supporting documents---CV, research proposals, list of publications, etc., that may be helpful in the selection process.
- Only complete application packets postmarked on or before January 15, 2008 will be considered. Please send, via U.S. mail (no email attachments), 3 copies of all application materials to:

Scholarship recipients will be informed in early February. Recipients will be recognized at the 2008 NCUE Awards Luncheon with a plaque and $1,500 check.
